I received my nursing training from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Duluth, Minnesota. Shortly thereafter, I entered the United States Air Force. After a 27 month tour in southern California, I was accepted into the USAF Nurse Anesthesia Residency Program at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. I graduated from the program in January 1979 and then did a 24 month tour at Grand Forks AFB prior to discharge. I then took a position with the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin. I have worked in a number of clinical environments from the tertiary care setting of Marshfield to the austere setting in the deserts of Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm. Currently, I am providing anesthesia in the hospital setting as well as in the ambulatory surgical setting and I am licensed to practice in WI, MN, IA, MI and CO. I am also licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP) in Wisconsin. A am a member of CRNA Associates, which is a group of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA's), which contract with various outpatient facilities and physicians offices in northeast Wisconsin. We provide general and regional anesthesia services for orthopedic, general, plastic, cosmetic and ophthalmic specialties. I have been an active practicing member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA, www.aana.com) since 1979 as well as an active member of the Wisconsin Association of Nurse Anesthetists (WIANA, www.wiana.com) of which I have been a member of the Board of Directors as well as Vice President. I am currently certified in Basic Life Supprt (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP). |
